A Note From the Principal

Dear Aki Kurose Families,

We are in the midst of a busy time of year.  Testing, Student-Led Conferences, Math & Science Night, Spring Sports, Plays and Spring Music Concert and 8th Grade Recognition Night, just to name a few. Please help keep the focus on the eyes of the prize your child doing their very best and your student’s future in high school, college and beyond.  Kudos to the Peace Crane  students for working really hard on MAP Test #3 to improve their scores.

I hope to see you all on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Student-Led Conferences.  Students will be dismissed at 1:30 PM for an Early Dismissal due to Student Led-Conferences.

Please take a moment this week to recognize the hard work and dedication of the staff of Aki Kurose during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Please make sure your students are at school every day, unless they are sick or have an appointment.  Also please share with your student the importance of being on time to every class.  When students are not in class they are missing out on instruction and learning. This is why I stress daily that students may not have a pass unless it’s an extreme emergency.  Students may use the restrooms and see the nurse for minor things during their five minute transition time.

Aki Kurose Big 5:  Be Successful, Be On Time, Be Prepared to Participate, Make Responsible Choices and Be Respectful.

Sincerely,

Mia Williams, Proud Principal
